Things are Going to Change!! (an extra post)

Our leaders, Carol & Linda, have begun to talk to us about transitioning into the "real world". We have been in a "biking bubble" for almost two months and life is very different in the biking bubble. Their comments tend to be about life changes that may take place for us. They tell us we may not realize these changes for months. I've been thinking about the simple personal changes that will take place as I "re-enter" my normal life. Here are a few things that I know will change for me:

· I probably will not sleep with my bike in my bedroom!

· I won’t have a different roommate every night; I’ll be sleeping only with Van.

· I won’t have to take my “blankie” quilt to bed with me each night cause I’ll be home and
won't need my security blankie.

· If I need to do laundry, I won’t have to put my name on the list and wait for my turn; I can
just go downstairs and do it.

· When doing laundry, I will probably have to go back to separating lights from darks.

· When taking clothes out of dryer, I won’t have to separate my underwear from Kirby’s or
Katies; it is much easier separating my underwear from Van's!

· When I pass someone on the street or sidewalk, I won’t have to say “passing on your left”!

· When 6:00 p.m. rolls around, I’ll have to remember that if I take a lawn chair out and sit in
the driveway or some parking lot that Linda will not be serving dinner.

· I won’t have to have my tires pumped, peanut butter sandwich made and snacks packed
by 7:15 a.m. or whatever time we agreed upon.

· I won’t have a “cue sheet” that tells me where to go each day and what to expect; I’ll have
to figure that out all by myself.

· If I see a white Subaru wagon on a street corner, it’s probably not the SAG wagon just
waiting to see if I'm hungry for apples, oranges or snacks or if I need more water.

· And last but not least, but will be one of the habits that might be hardest to break….when I
feel the urge to go to the bathroom, I will have to make sure I'm inside the house or a
public restroom before I drop my drawers and squat!

  1. Will we need to call you Sparkle once in a while or won't you miss that? Fun post it will be surprising how much of that stuff you will miss. I am sure you can go the bathroom outside as much as you want at the cottage!

  2. Have a wonderful day on Thursday your last day of biking! I am sure you will be happy to be back to your family again and indoor toilets! It was a long journey, but I am sure you did enjoy yourself. Sharon
